Jesse Thomas Skateboarding

My cousin Jesse Thomas has been skateboarding since the early days of the sport.  Growing up we’ve always been impressed with his stories and scars, but most importantly his style. Over the years skateboarding got bigger and more visible, but Jesse stays true to his roots and hones his craft as only someone with his amount of experience can do.

This video is the latest promo for the Head Board Shop in Pittsburgh. I may be biased but Jesse really stands out in his ability to go huge and nail some pretty amazing runs.

Showreel of Anika Flade, aka Crashdummy

Its been a while since I’ve posted anything because (in the words of my boss) I’m busier than God, so I figure I will post up the 2008 showreel of Anika Flade, an amazingly talented motion designer I have the extreme good fortune to work with.

View more of Anika’s work at crashdummy.net and especially check out her brilliant short film, Love Me. It is currently making the film festival rounds and has gotten a wonderful response.

Sean Eisele’s Surrogate Trailer

Surrogate Movie Still

My good friend Sean Eisele has recently written and directed a short film entitled Surrogate. Sean has broken convention from typical western gender stereotypes by focusing on a strong female lead character. I recently worked with Sean on Gospel of Wonderland, where I wrote score music featured in the film.   Here’s what Sean says about his new film:

Surrogate is a script that my father and I developed that we are now expanding into a feature length script. Having been raised on Westerns, it came to our attention that in such a male dominated genre, female characters are often marginalized as flat, secondary characters. They are either damsels in distress or threats to the Cowboy lifestyle. Therefore, we set out to give life to a full blooded female character with this film, one that is integrated into the West rather than disconnected from it. Under the guidance of producers Mark Myers and Erin Hudson of Citizen Skull Productions, the project has taken flight.

The film also stars good friend and Sean’s long time collaborator Max Rappaport.  That’s the extent of my knowledge about the film so far, but based on the quality of the trailer and Sean’s previous work, I know it will be absolutely amazing.

Andrew Sloan’s Video for Starfucker’s “Rawnald Gregory Erickson the Second”

One of my good friends Andrew Sloan has produced an animated video for Portland, Oregon-based indie rock band Starfucker.  The video was created in 3D modelling program Maya.  It is absolutely beautiful and captivating. It fits the song’s vibe so well. Here is the video:

The video is currently featured on Pitchfork TV. I’m very happy for Andrew’s success and hope’s he keeps producing awesome shit for me to enjoy. Check out his website for Monstrous Media.

I have worked with Andrew on a previous animated short film called The Odd Ballroom.  Keep it up!
